Show Enrollment Forms Going Out For State Retirement Plan All personnel covered by the newly enacted Utah Public Employees Em-ployees Retirement System will be supplied with membership enrollment forms, including the forms upon which to register and claim all past public service credit, by May 1, it was reported by Leonard W. McDonald, acting secretary of the newly created Public Employees' Retirement Board. The enrollment forms will be sent to all participating counties, cities, towns and other political subdivisions which choose to remain re-main covered by the new retirement retire-ment 'program. The forms will then be distributed to the individual indi-vidual employee so that all will be enrolled. The same type of form will be distributed to all state derjartments coming under A o the new retirement system. Enrollment forms are to be filed only by those employees who are in a unit covered by the system on July 1, 1961, and those who are employed after that date. Filing of enrollment forms by employees who terminate termi-nate their work before July 1, 1961, will have no effect in protecting pro-tecting their past years of public service for retirement benefit consideration. Therefore, Mr. McDonald pointed out, the board will want to have filed with it only membership forms for those employees on a covered payroll on July 1, and those who are employed full time by the covered cov-ered unit after that date. All forms and requests will be channeled chan-neled through the various employers' em-ployers' offices and will not be sent direct to the member. |
