Show PageTwo FRIDAY, JUNE 24, 1960 THE SALT LAKE TIMES Utah Committee Helps Draft '60 Mining Convention Meet agenda to include discussions of mine taxation, monetary policies, labor relations, public land law developments, the economic out-look for metals and minerals, the latest developments in under-ground and open pit mining and in milling and metallurgical techniques, advances in safety and processing operations, and general operating procedures. A feature of the convention will be a mammoth exhibition, the largest assemblage of modern mining machinery and equipment in history, which will take over Las Vegas' new convention cen-ter. To date, 190 exhibitors have reserved space for their displays. Serving as Utah state chairman is Mitchell Melich, president of Uranium Reduction Co., Moab, Utah. Twenty state program com-- j mittee chairman for the 1960 Metal Mining and Industrial Mining Congress will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada, to draft the program for the convention to be held at October 10-1- 3, AMC officials announced this week. The state chairmen, all well known in the mining industry, will assist National Program Chairman Oscar A. Glaeser, vice president and general manager, Western Operations, U. S. Smelt-ing Refining & Mining Co., in developing a comprehensive pro-gram for this annual meeting of the entire mining industry. Several thousand mining men, representing all branches of the industry, are expected to attend the October meeting. They will come from all parts of the U. S. and many foreign nations. Convention officials expect the ber of participating airport op-erators, CAP Squadron Com-manders, Highway Patrol offi-cers, county sheriffs and eputies and others. Anyone engaged in Search and Rescue activities or having spe-cific need for these publications may request copies. Utah Conducts First Air Rescue Seminar On May 11-1- 2 was held the first Air Search and Rescue Seminar sponsored by Fourth Air Force Search and Rescue Coordination Center, Utah State Aeronautics Commission, and Hill Air Force Base. Purpose: to bring together all agencies involved in S & R and discuss responsibilities, capabili-ties, and problems pertaining to S & R. Invited and in attendance were representatives of Fourth Air Force, the Federal Aviation Agencies, Utah Fish and Game, U. S. Forest Service, Utah Air National Guard, Army Aviation Section, county sheriffs, Utah Highway Patrol, civilian pilot organizations and organized jeep and mounted posse members. A complete 13 page resume of this seminar fs now being pre-pared by the Aeronautics Com-mission as recorded by Joan H. Geyer, Captain CAP. The Aeronautics Commission is also publishing a Search and Rescue Phone directory listing name, address and phone num- - within 20 days after service of this summons upon you. If you fail so to do, judgment by de-fault will be taken against you for the relief demanded in said complaint, which has been filed with the Clerk of said court and which said Clerk has mailed to your last known address, to-gether with a copy of this sum-mons.
