Show Commission Names Engineer for Davis Road Job State Road officials have appointed ap-pointed Sherman Burton as resident resi-dent engineer for the new highway high-way construction at Bountiful, near 4th North and Page's Lane, according to Harry E. Wilbert, district engineer. Mr. Burton will be in charge of the project located on Interstate Highway No. 15, a part of the 48,000 mile I national defense highway system. This work consists of construction construc-tion of an underpass at 4th No. and Pages Lane in Bountiful. Two concrete and steel structures struc-tures will be built. One structure will be 134 feet long and the other 52 feet long. Overburden used for compaction will also be removed. Among the principal items involved in construction of the overpass will be emplacement emplace-ment of 3130 cubic yards of concrete con-crete Class A, 673,500 pounds of reinforcing steel and 17,108 lineal lin-eal feet of piling. The job has been awarded to General Contracting Corp., of Salt Lake City. They have 200 working days to complete the construction for the Utah State Road Commission, Award was made to the firm as the lowest bidder for the opening of sealed bids on the project. Mr. Burton has been with the Road Commission for 24 years. |
