The Assessor and Collector of Water I Kates shall furnish to each water taker, or leave at his residence or usual place of business, a printed or ritten notice of the amount of water rate assessed against him and when payable. If any person neglect, reiuse or fail to pay his water raie within twenty days from the date cf said notice, the Assessor and Collector is authorized and empowered to have the water turned off from the premises of taid person where sin h unpaid water rate is assessed, and before the water shall tac'ied, at the curl , a stop-cock and a key-box, which shall bs rtnid for by the water taker and be nnder the exculsne control of the Superintendent. All service and other pipes n ed nnder ground shall be of cast iron, extra strong lead or tin-lined lend, and laid not less than four feet below be-low the grade, and all pipes for water snpply, whetLerlnside or outside, shall be of sufficient s'rength to stand ths water pressure, and all f nch work, alteration or extensions thereof, totether with size of pipe, must be to the acceptance of the Superintendent. No water shall be supplied from the pipes of the Salt Lake City Waterworks for the purpose of driving any motor, turbine or other wheels, or any hydraulic engines or e.evators, or for driving or propelling machinery of any kind whatsoever, and no license shall be granted or Iss'itd for any such purpose. Sec. 2. The Assessor and Collector of Water Rates may demand of any person, persons or corporation, cor-poration, a ewcrn statement for what purpose water is lequired, together with the number of rooms, hose connections, bath bouses, shop, urinals, urin-als, water closets, engines, boilers, stock yards, corrals, livery stables, liquor stores, and other purposes for which water is required, and also the number of horstaor other atock to be supplied sup-plied and the number of vehicles to lie washed. Any person refusing to make such sworn statement state-ment when required shall be refused a supply of ; water, and any person who makes such sworn statement falsely, may be prosecuted and can-vi can-vi ted of perjury. Sec 29. Be it ordained by the city council of Salt Lake City that: The waterworks constructed by the corporation to snppiy Salt Lake City w ith water shall be designated and kno.vnathe Salt Luke City Waterworks tht y shall be the property of said city, and Miall be under the sole and exclusive ex-clusive contiol of the city council, who may, from time to time, direct tho construction of such reservoirs, reser-voirs, water tanks, water mams, service pipes and fire hydrants us the necessities of the inhabitants of the city may require. - - Sec. 2. The Snper.titcndent of Waterworks shall, under the direction of the city council, have chanze of the r?servoirs, witer tanks, water mains, fire hydrants, and all the machinery and appnr enances appertaining 1 1 the waterworks.
