On the 22nd of this month the suits of the Salt Lake chamber, of commerce will be called to trial before the representatives of the inter-state commerce commission in the United States court room in this city. It is without doubt one of the most important events in the commercial history of Salt Lake, and the result will shake the business interests of the territory to the very center. The brunt of the struggle has been and will be bourne by the directors of the chamber cham-ber of commerce in genural, and Secretary j Sears in particular, until the end. Of the outcome, no one can speak with certainty, as yet;-but Mr. Sears has certainly built up a case which appears invulnerable, and it is to bo hoped that the merchants of this city, at least, will back him up with the moral strength of their presence during the progress pro-gress of the trial, and not allow the;T usual apathy to keep them away and give color to the impression that they are not interested in the matter. Every business man should be present so that the commission may be made to understand that the chamber of commerce is not alone in the action, but has behind it the entire business portion of this community.
