The light there was a light be-me- Cleveland and Hill, demo-crats. It has been a very pretty affair, having its origin in the legislature anil promising to extend over the entire state. In the city of Cohoes there were three candidates for mayor (Jokman, Cleveland democrat; Caksii.e, Hill democrat, and Strom;, republican. ( ; ikm.v.v is a member of the state sen-ate. He decided that he must win and introduced a bill practically placing the elect-io- in his own hands. He threatened to oppose e ery odemocratic measure that might come up if his bill was not passed. It passed, but it was vetoed. Governor FLOWEB was sick abed, and Senator Hill suddenly ap-peared at the executive mansion and the next day a veto message was sent in. fjoUMAN was lighting mad.
