It wanted to work no hardship on any one. A general discnasion them followed and councilman Vantland suggested that a commissioner com-missioner be appointed to enquire into and j summing up the details submit a report to 'he counci" upon which that body could act. Colonel Nick Treweek concurred, and thought this the easiestand soundest method . of arriving at uu adjustment of the difficulties. diffi-culties. C. O. Whittemore sustained this view and recommended that ihe commission consist of five members. To reduce the matter to an issue Councilman Council-man Wantlaud introduced the following: Il'solifl, That the mayor be authorized to appoint ap-point a commission of three person to investigate investi-gate and report a plan to adjust the difficulties ! Concerning iteeoti and lands in plat E, and that the sum of $60V, or so much thereof as may bo n ecessary , be appropriated to cover the work of such commission ; and that the citizens of pint K 1 requested to appoint a committee of three to I confer with said commission. The mayor stated that the action of the committee would be subject to the ratification ratifica-tion of the council. After some discussion the resolution was laid over until this evening. Colonel Treweek then called attention to the fact that some time since a franchise L was granted the Salt Lake I Sty railway for B the construction of a road on Center street. He cautioned the council that the street was Very narrow and that it would be necessary to grade it before tracks were laid. hi motion ofC. O.
