Show LIBERAL RALLY. Ilij: Demonstration In the Fifteenth "Ward Last Night. The liberal party held a successful rally and meeting in tho Fifteenth ward last evening even-ing in the hall at No. J5 South Fifth West street. The object of the meeting was the dedication of Hie new hall to be used as the headquarters of the Fifteenth Ward Liberal club. There was a very large, attendance and much enthusiasm prevailed. Clarence W. Hall presided as chairman of the meeting. meet-ing. The lirst Bpeaker of tlie evening was John ii. Harris. He said that it. was a meeting meet-ing of tho same, old liberal party that has been fighting the mormon people although now tlie party was fighting them under a changed name. He alluded to the Faulkuer-Caine Faulkuer-Caine bill, scoring it in severe terms and urged liberals to stand shoulder to shoulder and roll up the biggest majority in the next election they have ever iiad. That would show the law-makers at Washington what the people wii li for I'tah. Charles B. tilenn, Phil Corcoran, C. K. Stanton, w. H, Ryan Theodore Burma ter and others addressed the meeting, paying their respects to the Caine Faulkner 'bill, handling it without gloves, and denouncing it as a mormon trick which, if successful, would throw tlie government of the territory terri-tory into the hands of a disloyal people. The Liberal Drum corps and the Flambeau club were at the meeting aud made a tine appearance aud aided in the general enthusiasm. |
