A bold thief entered the house of J. F. Grant at 126 A street at 3 o'clock this morn-ing and made a very neat little haul, con-sisting of a lady's irold watch and chain, a pair of bracelets, a child's bracelet, two srold scarf pins, a lady's onyx ring and a ladys watch chain and 820 in cash. The monthly meeting of the Press club took place in the room last evening and was followed by an excutive session of the board of manager. The statue of Moroni and the pinnacle on the west end of the temple will be light up this evening. There are eight 150 candle powder incandesceud lamps on the pintle and one of of the same power will light up the statue. Harry Wjsua'i Promotion. The friends of Harry C. Wyman in this city will be pleased to hear that he has been appointed deputy collector of internal reve-nue for Idaho, with headquarters at Boise. Mr. Wyman is a young attorney of marked ability. Dating his residence in this city he-wa-s in Judge Powers' office. Three Tills Tapped. Early this morning the Globe bakery, Sherwood's butcher's shop and Bowing's grocery, on Main street were visited by buglars. Then came the bridesmaids: Miss Cert rude Cohen, dressed in blue silk aud carrying pink roses, and accompanied by Mr. N. Little Miss Rita Kahn was as sweet as the basket of flowers she carried, and was escorted by Master Eugene Kahn. The Beekeeper's convention was called to order in the Brick and Stoue Mason's hall at 10 o'clock this morning by President O. B. Huntington. The roll call showed fifteen members present and several new members were received. The committee on legisla-tion reported the. difficulties encountered and their final success in securing the pas-sage of the bill for the eradication of foul brood in bees. The committee was honora-bly discharged and an appropriation of 51.25 made to defray the expenses of the commit-tee. Messrs. Taufer, Faulkner, Huntington, Peterson, Thomas aud Lovesey spoke on the fubjeets of putting up honey and marketing the same. Secretary Swarner read a report in regard to selling honey by the carload, and various other members then spoke in regard to the subject in question. Adjourned until 1 o'clock p. m. He said: "I don't care about giving the party's names, but there has been a New York capitalist here for several daye who represents a syndicate now negotiating for tiie purchase of some property in Tintic to the value of half a million. The agent left Tuesday evening carrying with him a prop-osition for the sale of the following proper-ties, which are mainly owned by John and his father: The Eagle, Blue Bell, Beaciier, Houghton, Eagle South Ex-tension, Blue Bell South aud North Exten-sions, and the Beachcr South Extension. Some of these are good paying mines, the Eagle having shipped some 500 tons of pay ore last year." A Pickpocket Caught. Yesterday afternoon several ladies had there pockets picked at Wonderland.
