Show A SMALLPOX SCARE. A Man Taken From an Emigrant Train at Cincinnati Suffering From That lread Disease. Cincinnati, April 10. The health officers yesterday morning took a young man who was unable to walk from the "big four" immigrant im-migrant train bound west, and conveyed him to the hospital, where his disease was pronounced pro-nounced smallpox. The remaining immigrants immi-grants left for Chicago. Chicago, April 16. The health officers yesterday met the '"big four" train from Cincinnati, on which was said to be a lot of immigrants who were exposed to smallpox. A cartful examination failed to reveal the Slightest symptoms of the disease, but as a precautionary measure the immigrants and their personal belongings were thoroughly fumigated before they were allowed to proceed pro-ceed westward. . |
