Show FK03I FOREIGN LANDS. A French Priest who Doubts the Stories From China Other Items of Interest. Paris, Dec. 2. A priest who has long been engaged in foreign missions, recently returned here from the mission in Manehoo-ria, Manehoo-ria, China. In an interview in regard to the startling events which have oceured of late in that land, he expressed doubts as to the reports telling of the masacre of the Belgian mission. He is unable to believe the story that the insurgents are occupying the towns and not meeting with any resistance. The government, continued the clergyman, had 10,000 troops at Lead Long, all armed with the latest and most improved style of Kuropean weapons. They were also supplied sup-plied with Krupp guns "aud thoroughly drilled in military tactics. He estimated the number of christians in Manchooria at 15,000 persons. |
