Show A PJpjtK CITY PIONEER, John W. Hughes Breathes His Last on the . Sump of a Prospect. All of of the old-timers of Park City know John "W. Hughes, who died of heart disease last Wednesday on the dump of a prospect he was working, and they will feel a sincere iregret over his death. He was one of the, pioneers of the Summit ccuuty camp, going there before the discovery of the Ontario. He was the discoverer uf several sev-eral valual le mines, among them the Mc-Henry.v.bi Mc-Henry.v.bi t, like the great percentage of prospe1j.ors, he died poor, or, at least, comparatively! com-paratively! so. He had had several sev-eral ' opportunities for making a modest fortune, but . he . . always thought the oil irs made him were so much below the value of his property that he never sold. - When he came west he w as troubled with hearf disease, of which he died; but he always hua on to life with stolid pertinacity, pertinac-ity, ,Mr. Hughes was well connected aud has a brother who is believed to be a colonel in the regular army.
