This morn-I morn-I ing two men went to the home of George Newberry, living two miles west of here. Newberry was absent and the men demanded from bis mother the money they supposed be bad received a few days previously. The old lady told tbem she had no money in the house, whereupon they took her into the back yard, tied her to the gatepost and slashed her throat with a knife. One man xvent l ack into the nous?, siezed a child of 7 years, und asked where her father's money was. The child refused to tell him, whereupon the rullian took her out into the yard and cut her throat with a knife. ( loing back ho took out a 0-year-old ami a 2-ycar-old baby, killed" both in the 9111110 manner and piled their bodies together. The miscreauts then went away. Tho old lady is still living, but cannot recover.
