Show A BLOCKADE BROKEN. THE BULLION ACCUMULATED AT.TAM-PICO AT.TAM-PICO IS NOW MOVING. It all Amounted to 2240 Bars The Delay Caused by the Kefusal of the Smelters to Pay the Government Govern-ment Charge of Assaying. Xew Orleans, Nov. 21. A Tampieo, Mexico, special says: "The bullion blockade which has been in effect here for the past month, is broken, and the 22,400 bars of silver accumulated here are being exported as rapidly as transportation facilities will permit. This delay in bullion shipments was caused by the Monterey smelters refusing re-fusing to pay the government charges of $3 made for assaying every bar reported. The assay charges have now been reduced to $2 for every 135 marks. This result is not entirely en-tirely satisfactory to the 6melters, but they must accept it for the present." m m m |
