The Ogden Standard says: Mr. E.- Eis-man Eis-man of Council Bluffs and Mr. Bob Harris of Missouri Valley, Iowa, editor of the Missouri Mis-souri Valley Thw are in the city. They represent rep-resent the famous Keeley gold cure for drunkenness, opium, morphine and tobacco habits and nervousness. The headquarters of the famous Keeley institute are at Dwight, 111. It has been decided to establish such an institute in every state aud territory of the Union. These gentlemen are now here looking over "the ground for the purpose of establishing one here. It lies, between Ogden and Salt Lake. The gentlemen do not ask for any donation or bonus. They are desirous of organizing a stock company of flOOJKW, only o0,000 to $40,000 of which thep desire to place here. All of it will be preferred stock and will be sold at 50 cents on the fl, and they guarantee guaran-tee 10 per cent interest on the money invested for the first three years. The importance of this institution to a town may be understood when a most careful care-ful estimate, based on several years' experience experi-ence in other places, show that t$06 people daily will attend the institute. They will spend on an average t3 a day, making an expenditure of S1S00 per day in this city, mainly new money. Patients treated for any of the habits they wish to be cured of, must remain here three weeks. A building build-ing will probably be rented to commence with. The gentlemen come with the highest endorsements. en-dorsements. United effort should at once be made to secure this institution. The board of trade should also take an active part in the matter. Those who have read the New York and Chicago papers as well as the Xarth American lieview are famiiiar with the wonderful cures wrought by Dr. Keeley. Not only from a monetary but from a moral point of view the proposition should receive the heartiest support. Ten thousaud dollars have already been subscribed in this city. The gentlemen will go to Salt Lake and look over the ground there, but will return here before definitely deciding on the location. |
