Show . THE RECTOR'S RECEPTION. Rev. ISorris and Wife the Recipient of Many Testimonials. The reception to Rector Norris and his estimable es-timable wife, of St. Mark's Episcopal church last evening afforded splendid splen-did evidence of the hijrh esteem in which both are held by the congregation. The brilliantly lighted rectory was thronged throughout by friends, nearly everyone of whom brought substantial proof of their devotion. de-votion. The tables were literally staggered stag-gered wiSh their load, which embraced embra-ced every variety of gift appropriate ap-propriate to an event of this kind and included in-cluded china f the most delicate mould, t-ilverware, gold and silver salt sellers, together to-gether with table and parlor novelties that w ere almost endless in their description. A purse, containing $125 also stole its way into the magnificent collection and it is hardly necessarv to state in behalf of Rector Norris and wife that they feel deeply gratified for thu hearty remembrance. |
