The hiqnin r this morning contains an interview with Senator Quay concerning the recent re-cent address of the independents, in which he says in the most emphatic manner that so far as it refers to him it is false from beginning to end. lie denies every charge, and says the men who signed the address are not republicans. repub-licans. "All of them," says he, "voted fur Pattison for governor, many of them for Cleveland for president, and you will find among them a number of free traders. I can stand the attacks coming com-ing from such democratic sources." |
