Election of OMIu.ra. The meetiug then proceeded to the election ot a permanent chairman. Tho names of Robert Darkness and Kick Treweek wero presented and the latter declining, the secretary was instructed in-structed to cast tho entire vote of the club for Mr. Darkness, who was declared de-clared elected. The names of James Sharp and Charles W. Bennett were presented for the Ii 1 st vice-presidency. Judge lieu-dett lieu-dett declining, presented the name of Kick Treweek. Messrs I'hillips and l'ratt were appointed ap-pointed tellers and the club proceeded to ballot with the following result: Sharp Kl, 'J re week VI, total W. Mr. Sharp was declared elected liirit vice-president. vice-president. The entire vote of the club was ordered or-dered cast for Mr. Treweek for second Vice president. For permanent secretary the names of u. M. Earl ami ltyt Sherman were presented, the first ballot resulting as follows. Earl 12, Sherman 17, total 2'J. Mr. Sherman was declared elected. The names of Ernest R. Eldridge, Jas. A. Pollock and W. S. MoCornick were presented for treasurer, tho first ballot resulting as follows; Eldridge 34, Pollock 1, W. S. MoCornick 10; total 81. Mr. McCornick's election as treasurer treas-urer was announced, after which tho club proceeded to tho election of an executive committee. Tim Kc.outivo Cominittaa. Wells, Fred Simons and Joseph (ioeghagen were presented, and on motion of William lialderston the club proceeded to baliot, the five receiving the highest number to constitute con-stitute tlie committee. According to this verdict the executive execu-tive committee is composed of Messrs Ranch Iirown, Deviuo, Smith and Weils. L. M. Earl was appointed sergcant-at-iinns. The nomination was unanimously unanimous-ly confirmed. On motion of Marshal Parsons the second Tuesday of each month was designated as the regular meeting night for Hie club. The sentiment iu the former county was about evenly divided between the parties while in Juab the expression was overwhelmingly republican. John Henry Smith reported that the campaign committee bad visited Provo where the democrats were pretty well oigtni.ed. l'liu republicans, however. Were encouraged by excellent promise, the mayor of the city having declared in favor of the republican parly. The speaker was deeply interested; he believed it the duty of every man to ally himself with one or tho other of tho great national parties and believed that the safety of the government rests in the supremacy of republican principles. On motion of Judge Dennett the enrollment en-rollment of charter members was left open until tho next regular meeting aud the committee on Mr. ltalderston's amendment was increased to seven, tho committee standing ns follows at present: pres-ent: J. The chair announcer1 that a precinot club would be organized in the Fourth precinct this evening at which time there will be a How of eloquence and a gale of enthusiasm. It was also announced an-nounced that clubs would be organized in every precinct in city and county as fast ae tho work could be accomplished aud tho entire machinery put in operation opera-tion at the earliest period possible.
