A morning paper with flaming headlines head-lines conveys the rumored intelligence of the sale of the Ziou's Co-operative Mercantile Institution to a syndicate of gentile capitalists. The only foundation founda-tion for the rumor must hve dwelt in the more or less fertile imagination of the reporter who wrote it. None of the officer or directors of the institution ever heard of uch an absurd thing. The stock of the corporation corpor-ation is owned by at least 700 holders and it would be next to impossible for anyone ever to get a controling interest inter-est at any price, but as for securing all of it, that is . beyond the power of money to buy. There are people living liv-ing in New York, San Francisco New England, and all over California, Califor-nia, I'tah and Nevada who own stock. It has been found almost al-most impossible to get these together at limes to vote on measures of moment to the business, so that it cau be seen bow impossible it would be to effect sale as rumored.
