Since the chamber of commerce has signified its willingness to supply ster-eopticiaus ster-eopticiaus with lectures and views of tho points of wonderful scenery which Utah possesses, together with the many objects of interest with w Inch this city is supplied, it has received, inquiries from all over the country for this class of literature and art. The latest request conies from P.rooklyn New York, where a lecturer asks that tho matter be sent on to him at once. One lecturer from New England, w ho has already been furnished with a lecture lec-ture and views, writes to tho chamber that he had to repeat his entertainment in Worcester, Mass., four times by request re-quest of the mayor and other citizens, before the people would bo satis-lied, satis-lied, and then ho had to book a return date. Secretary Gillespie now has in contemplation a series of lectures on I'tah and Salt Lake City, as it is impossible to completely cover the ground in one evening's discourse. The distribution of these entertainments and the views w hich will accompany them, as he has them in his mind, will be about as follows: "One on the different points of interest and the historical associations as-sociations of this city; a second on the mining camps and mineral resourced of the territory. This lecture will be embellished by views of the mining camps of Bingham, Park City, Tinlic, and some ot hers, together with illustrations illus-trations of the surface improvements and the machinery of the mines themselves, them-selves, with statistical information of their history, output and opportunities to make prolitable investments in tho districts, etc. A third lecture will bo 1111 the scenic beauties of Utah and its many attractive places as a summer resort, its sporting and camping possibilities, possi-bilities, etc." These lectures may be augmented by a fourth, which will be on the beauties of the Croat Salt Lake, the luxuries of its bathing, itsspleudid sanded beaches, its islands and a thousand other things which ought to make au intensely in- tensely interesting lecture if handled by the poetic brain of a master In word painting." Today's mail brought inquiries from tho following places: An eastern establishment es-tablishment who wants to buy a large quantity of Utah sulphur, aks for information in-formation of the sources from which it can bo secured. They would like to obtain it nearer home but cannot do go in the quantities and qualities they desire. A squad of Denver people want to know of tho advantages which Salt Lake can offer to investors.
