Maker and Mrs. Gilmer, both prominent prom-inent and widely known, on a charge of murdering Mrs. linker, the wife of Dr. Baker, and attempting to murder J. R. Gilmer, the husband of the woman under arrest. Mrs. Gilmer confessed con-fessed that Mrs. Baker had been killed, and also acknowledged that Dr. Baker sent her poison, which she gave her husband, but his life was saved. Upon bis arrival in this citv, Douglas put tip at a hotel and subsequently eluded bis attendant and cut his throat. |
