Dispatches from various va-rious parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut Con-necticut state that ice formed in many places last night. Unusually cold weather prevailed this morning throughout the entire northern portion of the country eat of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers, the line of the freezing freez-ing temperature extending from southern south-ern Maine, westward through western New York and Northern Ohio and including in-cluding Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota Minne-sota and North Dakota. In southwestern southwest-ern Michigan the temperature was the lowest on record for this season of tho I year, the minimum there being one de-I de-I gree lower than previously observed luring tho first part of May. Severe I fr.ists occurred throughout these re-i re-i gions, probably causing considerable ! injury to truit and early vegetables, j Albany. N. V., May 5. Reports from various portions nf the state show that frost occurred last night and that ice formed. The weather is said to be the coldest experienced at this season for many years.
