It is rumored that President Harrison .baa tendered, tho Russian mission to , Congressman McKlnley. The mission is not yet vacant but it is known that Charles Emory Smith has had enough of Russian life, and that he is desirous of returning to Philadelphia to resume control of his newspaper. It is quite probable that McKinley will accept the appointment since a strong opposition to his nomination for governor gov-ernor has been developed by his own party.
