I v ; The sensitive plant has a proper I place in nature and doubtless might be I ured, by way of comparison, in illus trating certain attitudes of character, j But tho sensitive plant is no type for a Christian. Ho is not to carry his feelings feel-ings so conspicuously that every con-tact con-tact with others will cause a retreat into tho inner recesses of his being; in other words, au offense. Christians are called Upon to bear and sillier a great deal. A little shock to one's feelings is no war-j war-j rant for becoming ollish. Lovo suller- j tu long aud is not easily oll'ended. I The Convention. Of tho Y. P. S. C. K. to be held at Og- j den on the 80ih and 81st of March is (worthy of careful attention. Jt will be the largust religious convention ever I held in the territory. From the pres- I cut indications at least three hundred 1 and lifty members will be in attendance j and the societies arc working with great i- enthusiasm to nmke it a grand success A in every way. The secretary of the i Utah union sent invitations to every ,j onion in the United Slates and has re- 3 ceived letters of regret and good wishes I from over thirty states in reply, and I morn are coining each day. Both the j railway companies havo granted half I rates, and the good peoplo of Ogden l", will provide free entertainment for all delegates. One pleasant feature is this, it the meals will bo given at the churches i i . where the exercises are to be held so ' the young people may remain together I, ; and become thoroughly acquainted with i each other. All denominational lines aro broken a dowu, and all join in the societies J motto "For Christ and the Church." i Fach society is under the control of its own church and to be in harmony with " the christian endeavor spirit must be loyal to its church and work for its upbuilding, but in the groat conven- , tions nil are united in ono harmonious I christian whole. 1 Nearly all the arrangements are per- I fected and information regarding rail- g road matters may be obtained of the pi Kecretary of the Utah union, C. II. Parsons nt his Btore, 164 South Main t: street. Tickets are also for sale there i nnd at the railroad otlices, but each f I one buying at the otlices must have an I order signed by the secretary. Now prepare to go to the convention and have all the benefit of such a meeting. I What He Would Have Done. Some wordy objector to the estab- "f lished order has said that if he had hi created the world he"would have made ajgjpsjpsriilth catching." That is exactly what God did iiV the spiritual world. In the physical retilin he made health normal. There was Lo need of catching it until f sensuality .Introduced disease. liut even when the soul is without righteousness, right-eousness, Righteousness may be acquired acquir-ed by fellowship wilh God's people. No limn is exhorted to "corral" grace, but w arned lest he be resisting it. The lost sheep does not need to bunt for the shepherd, but it must not hide from him. Sabbath Announcements.
