Show Women Speak In a -Mulno Town Meeting. Caribou held its annual town meeting Monday. When article 10 was reached, which was to see "what instruction tlia town will give the selectmen about licensing li-censing bowling alleys, pool, bagatelle and billiard rooms," it was moved to indefinitely in-definitely postpone, whereupon Deacon Merrill asked tjiat ladies lie permitted to be heard on the question, which, being granted, the deacon was ordered to escort es-cort the ladies into the hall, which was at once done. Mrs. Teague, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor and Mrs. Spanlding being introduced to the meeting, gave their views upon the evils directly aud indirectly growing ant of such rooms. Two lawyers championed cham-pioned the saloons, but a vote taken showed that women are a power in politics, poli-tics, as more than two-thirds of the voters were in favor of the indefinite postponement of the article.
