' On next Monday the case In the matter mat-ter of the townsite of Kureka will be culled at the United Slates land office iu Salt Lake. It appears that Delos Lombard, Tutor Keedy, Charles Kields, lU-ber Fields, T. C. Hams, John H. Driscoll, John Moore, Sam II. Nelson, Win. Hatfield, Peter Keedy. T. D. Sullivan, M. L. l'owors, have claimed lhat they own mining land within the townsite of Kureka. Their claims are said to embrace nearly near-ly if not all the townsite as applied for. Charles Foote, the affiant in the case, alleges that the lands applied for are not mineral lands within with-in the meaning of the statute stat-ute and will not produce minerals in paying quantities and that the described mineral locations are made for speculative purposes and to secure title to lands valuable because within , townsite limits. Trior to the occupation of said lands for townsite purposes nn minerals had been discovered thereon and so far as alii ant has knowledge none were known to be coutained therein. The alliant can and will prove these allegations if allowed an opportunity oppor-tunity to do so, and he therefore there-fore protests against the perfecting per-fecting of said mineral claims and asks that a hearing be ordered to determine.
