In the house today Henderson, of Iowa, presented the conference report on the urgency of the deficiency bill. In doing so he slated that the senate had receded from its amendments relative to the pay of senatorial clerks, but the house might expect to meet the same question on the legislative or on the general deficiency de-ficiency bill. The senate mot at noon with the vice-president in the chair. A score of petitions for and against the Conger land bill, and the Tor-rey Tor-rey bankruptcy bill, were presented. The census committee reported back without amendment tlio apportionment bill, which was placed on the calendar, The committee on privileges and elections elec-tions reported back the credentials of Frederick T. Dubois as senator elect from Idaho for the term of six years, beginning the 4th of March next, with a statement that it Is the usage of the senate to consider any question that may arise on the credentials of a senator sena-tor at tho session held during the term for which the senator claims to bo elected, and not before. The committee com-mittee therefore recommended that Mr. Dubais' credentials be placed on file and it was so ordered. Tho credentials cre-dentials of Shoup and McCounell, senators-elect from Idaho, were reported back with tho recommendation that McConuell be sworn in, (Shoup having already taken his seat.) The oath of office was thereupon administered to McCounell. Thereupon tho senate, at half-past twelve, went into executive session on motion of Sherman, who said it was important to have such a session immediately. The doors were reopened at half past one and Hoar said the election bill would be taken up after a few unimportant unim-portant matters . were dispoct of.
