Show TWO CARS AND A SINGLE TRACK. ( Passengers Delayed Through the Action of Conductors. Two electric cars met on the corner , of Second and E streets early this morning morn-ing on a single track line. The conductors con-ductors held a consultation of a most forcible and expressive nature, relating principally to the advisability of the other conductor backing his car to the nearest switch and allowing clear track to the other car, as It was plainly obvious obvi-ous to the most casual observer that i under the, circumstances it would be impractible to endeavor to pass each other on the same track. The cars were delayed a quarter of an hour through the obstinacy of the conductors, or negligence of the company, com-pany, owing to . the fact that there seems to be no method of determining which car is entitled to the right of way on single track lines-, other than the method pursued by the two conductors this morning. Commissioner Greenman, who was a passenger, gave the men the alternative of immediately settling their difference and proceeding upon their way or explaining ex-plaining in court why passengers are delayed. The oars proceeded. |
