Show Fatal Ravages of the Corset. The Maoris of New Zealand are rapidly rap-idly disappearing from the list of races. Strange to say, one reason ascribed for the decrease in their numbers is said to be tight lacing. It is asserted that when the female missionaries went among the Maoris they insisted that the native women should put on clothing. The latter declared against skirts, but accepted ac-cepted the "corset, which they wear bound as tightly to their forms as their mala relatives can lace them. - Unaccustomed Unac-customed to this article of attire and its restrictions the dusky devotees of fashion fash-ion are said to be dying off at a shock ingrate. |
