Show Rev. J. B. Thball of the First Congregational Con-gregational church has tendered his resignation, to take effect April 1st next. We do not know what led Mr. Thrall to take this action at this time, but we do know that it was oontem- ?latod by him for several months past, he reverend gentleman then believed that the east offered him a wider field of usefulness, and he desired to fill it. No doubt the Christian ministry of Salt Lake City offers no end of discouragements dis-couragements and difficulties. It is unnecessary to dilate upon the reasons that render the duties of a pastor more irksome here than almost anywhere else, but having borne the burden for six long years we do not like to part , with the poetical pastor now that a better bet-ter time is in sight. Besides, the Master himself never complained of the cross. |
