The exchange members stepped carefully care-fully up the stoops leading to their headquarters this morning. They knew there was nobody dead in the building but that the stoops had been painted yesterday. If a cricket had jumped in the exchange, it could not have been livelier than tlje boys were. President West stated the matter in full. Col. Donnellan Donnel-lan said the situation is serious and that there is not four days' supply in the city, and that there is danger of a strike among the miners at Rock Springs. W. C. B. Palmer, Donnellan, all, Simon, and Spencer, was appointed ap-pointed to ask the city council to cooperate co-operate in the matter. The Trades Union Building. The Trades Union: building will bob up within the near future. The capital capi-tal stock of the company is $500,000, in 5000 shares of $100 each, and 10 per cent of the stock has been paid and 5 per cent more will be planked down within eighteen months. The ground on which the structure is to stand will cost $30,000, and $150,000 will be paid for the six storev building of brick and stone. The officers of the company are: President, E. M. ' The handsome new certificates of stack to be issued by the chamber of commerce are the work of the Salt Lake Lithograph company. The certificates carry pictures of the new chamber of commerce, the Ontario mill, a view of Salt Lake City and Garfield beach. |
