Show At the Churches Yesterday, Kev. W. M. Lane of Laramie, Wyo.. preached both yesterday morning and evening at St! Paul's chapel. He preached on tho topic; "The coming of God's son in tho flesh aud what it accomplished ac-complished for us." Services will be held at St. Paul's chapel at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. until further notice, under the pastorate of Kev. Lane. Kev. Dr. Iliff preached at the First M. E. church veslcrdav morniutr. Histext was from Mark viii:34: "Whosoever will come after Mo, let him deny himself and take up My cross and follow Mo." In tho opening exercises he read two letters for admission, aud stated that theso made just 100 persons who have been received into the church by letter within tho last twelve mouths. At tho Taberuaclo yesterday Orson A. Woolley spoke. The religion of the ( 'hurch of Jesus Christ, he said, was a practical religion aud called for action. Our evcry-day life ought to be such that we could'ask tho Father for His blessing at any time. It is only through this religion that we can obtain celestial celes-tial glory and entrance into heaven. Revelations tell us to keep its commandments. com-mandments. None but those that do need expect to tako part in the glory of a hereafter. How few of us live and practice as we are expected to. Wo lack faith in the promises of. the Lord. |
