Show THE COl'M'V KLKC'TION. Hkadquartkkh, 1 . LibkiialTkkimtoiimi.Uommittkk. V SU.T Lakr, July 7, 1HWI. ) The at tention of the Liberals of the territory ih directed to the fact that the coining election hi August is one of Importance to the territory. County officers are to be chosen, and a strong nugrossivo llht should be wuged by tho Lio-ral Lio-ral party, even in counties where defeat is ei'tiilii. 'F.very member of our parly should Tttak" an effort to Increase our vote In Iho territory ter-ritory over last August, when we polled 0500 ballots In round numbers. The time Is at hand when the comity conventions con-ventions should be called for the Humiliation ofa ticket aud the selection of county committees. com-mittees. The basis of represent atlon should be the Liberal vote, as polled at the August election last year. To a portion the delegatos npon the basis of the entire vote would be manifestly unfair, for upon such an apportionment, appor-tionment, a strong Mormon precinct, with fiw Liberal vote's, would be giveu representation representa-tion as great as an adjoining Liberal precinct w hich had the same number of votes. County committees should avoid any such errors. The uounty cominitt.ee chosen should consist con-sist of live members, and their names and postofltce addresses, with the names and addresses ad-dresses of candidates nominated, should be forwarded to the territorial committee immediately imme-diately after each convention, by the secretary thereof. At each of the precinct caucuses, a precinct Committee of three should be named, aud the names aud addresses forwarded at once to the Liberal territorial committee. In counties where the Liberal vote is too small to Justify thecallingof acounty convention, conven-tion, the county committees should meet and place a ticket In the Held. Make your nominations In good season, and have your tickets printed aud distributed early, eo that a full vote may be polled. Please keep your territorial committee fully , informed as to the political sltuatlou In your respective localities. O. W. Powers, Chairman. ' C. K. Au.BN, Secretary. |
