Maria Doettling a girl of 10 years, living with her father, a farmer, near Kbingen, has been in a trance-like sleep since the GTh of last month. At tho beginning of August she complained of pains in her head and chest. On tho (Hh she went to bed, and she has not awakened for a single minute since. She respires slowly, but without effort. Her breath is only slightly perceptible in a mirror. Her limbs have grown thinner, but her face, whilo ghastly pale, is not wanting in its accustomed plumpness. Two davs after the trance began her parents commenced to feed her three times a dav with eggs and milk. There is no difficulty in forcing this nourishment in smnlf doses down the girl's throat. Several noted physicians are watching the case, but all their efforts to break the spell have been unsuccessful so far. |
