Show died l ins mm. .... .. . . A Well Known Salt Lake Man Is Ushered Out in a Sadden and Terrible Visitation DEATH OF ME. J. H. TEIMBLE. The Heartrending Spectacle that Greeted His Heroio Wife on Her ' Arrival. , :j ,. i . . .' 1 At 1:30 o'clock this afternoon J. H. Trimble, a well known and prosperous wool grower, was stricken with a hemorrhage hem-orrhage while walking up Main street, and five minutes later was pulseless in the embrace of death. The spectacle that flashed before pedestrians at the hour mentioned was one of the most revolting while of the most pitiable and heart-rending type. While apparently moving firm tread and nodding to old acquaintances as he passed them Mr. Trimble suddenly . grasped a chair that stood near the entrance en-trance to the Collateral loan bank between be-tween Second and. Third streets on South Main and dropped in a Jimp and apparantly dazed condition into it. Bystanders By-standers who were a few feet away ob- served the blanched and pallid face and started to his assistance. A hacking - cough was all that signalled the fatal sequel, and before they reached him poor Trimble fell face forward with a ' river of blood belching from his mouth. There was a brief convulsion, an effort to utter something and then the spark had fled. He was dead. The doctor who arrived in the meantime was mak- ing an effort to restore respiration in the movement of the arms when a little - woman with face as white as alabaster ' pushed her way through the stubborn crowd that had collected. " '"Its my husband" said 'she in stifled tones and bending 'down she placed the gloved hand beneath the crimson head. She spoke to him while her form quivered quiv-ered and shook but the vacant eyes only stared at her. Marshal Young had arrived in the ' meantime, and summoning a carriage the dead body of Trimble was placed within and removed to the residence at 218 South Second West, to which place .the coroner reported, while from another an-other direction the mercenary wagon - from an undertaker's shop was rattling, Deceased is well known in the city, having been associated with Mr. C. B. Durst in the grocery business for several years, and until the malady that finally claimed hira became be-came so annoying as to force his retirement retire-ment to tho open air of the valley, where he purchased a sheep ranch. It is less than a year since be was married and the heroic little woman who bent with set teeth and determination over n scene at which strong men sickened is ' divorced while yet la the honeymoon. Scores of Salt Lake's good people will share her grief and extend their profound sympathies. It is understood that Mr. Trimble was in the city especially to attend the funeral ceremonies of Mrs. Durst, the wife of his former partner. |
