Show Discovery of s Kew Violet, A new violet has just been discovered ' by Ur. A. P. Gordoa-Cummings on his place near Sykesvtlle, Md. The foliage leaves of this violet are longer than those of the ordinary wild or cultivated violet The flower leaves of the new violet are a soft white, striped or mottled, with liht and dark purple. Unlike tfie other cultivated culti-vated violet, the new one is a sic jle violet. vio-let. All Ihe cultivated violets have , hitherto, without exception, been double. dou-ble.
