L-- - ' ,tme utah plumbing co. lease the old skating rink. - The New Company 1 to Do Strictly a, Job-bin- n Buninmick anil Will Enable the Plumbing- Firm, to liny Sup-plle- a Cheaper. The fact that several plumbing firms became, interested in an incorpora-tion styled, "The Utah Plumbing aud Supply company," led a great many people to jump at the conclusion that it was a combine, a bad thing for this city, when the very opposite is the fact. It means a large jobbing industry backed by $100,000 capital, that will deal in plumbing materials. The company today secured a lease on the old skating rink on West Tem-ple street, which they will alter in many respects. After the changes are made the company will put in a stock of goods of not less than $:)0,000 value and it may run up to $.r0,000. This concern will not only supjrty the home plumbers but put men on the road to sell plumbing supplies in tho different cities of Utah, Idaho and other states and territories. The following local firms have taken stock in the company: David James & co., lleesch & Kllerbeck, Midgley & Sons, J. W. Farrell, J. J. Farrell, H. Morrison, L. H. Dale and Salt Lake Construction co. David James is tho president, with an executive board consisting of J. W. Farrell, Charles lleesch and John Midgley. Mr. Farrell said that tho new com-pany, instead of increasing the price of plumbing, would reduce it at least ten per cent. The officers brought in a colored woman this morning whom they found wandering aimlessly through the streets, and filed a charge of vagrancy against her. This was to hold her for safe keeping. All efforts to induce her to divulge her name were answered with a derisive laugh and she was locked as "W itch of " Locked iu jail she settled in a corner, rejected all food and again laughed a hollow, howling laugh when questioned. The attention of the city physician has been called to the mystery. For Vagrancy. Lottie Perkins and Frankie Smith were run in during the night for vag-rancy and are held to await examina-tion before Judge Laney. Frankie is said to have been mixed up with some tough customers in her lifetime. She is the reputed wife of Walter Hell, who was recently taken back to Pueblo on a charge of murder, after his arrest in La Grande, Oregon, by Sheriff Burt J - - over the ' i- -1 I A.
