Show Dodged the Vote, Washinoton,, April IU. There is considerable comment here and in New York to-day upon the action of Senators Sena-tors Woleo'tt of Colorado and Plumb of Kansas in the Montana contest yesterday. yester-day. Holh of them dodged tno voting altogether. Woleolt did not appear in the senate at nil and Plumb was present pres-ent and declined to vote. As neither of these gentlemen took the trouble to arrange a pair the only inference to be drawn from their conduct con-duct is that thev were absolutely indifferent indif-ferent as to tho'deciwion to be given by tho senate in the Montana contest. Kvcry other member of the scnate.both Republican and Democrat, either voted or w as paired. This was true even in the case of Stanford of California, In-galls In-galls of Kansas and others who aTe thousands of miles away. Senators Wolcott and Plumb evidently evi-dently had reasons of their own for not supporting tho Republican candidates and at the same time were not anxious to go on record in support of the Democrats. |
