This ran be reached bypassing through the Ragle Gate, an archway ln the old mud wall which at one time encompassed Belgium's private pri-vate property. One or two of the prophet's wives repose beside his last resting place. A slab of granite covers the grave and there is space left near by for the graves of his other wives. Deseret Museum. This Institution Is situated on South Temple street, directly opposite Temple square. It contains a large number of interesting curiosities, curios-ities, chiefly pertaining to the early history of Utah. It is well worth a visit. Prospect Hill with its lookout tower commands a splendid view of the city and its surroundings. The Tithing Building possesses interest as being tho general depot for taxes collected by the Mormon church from its disciples. Liberty Park, in the southeastern portion of the city Is a beautiful resort and can be reached by rapid transit trains. The Chamber of Commerce, on Second South street, Is visited by those who take an Interest in the commercial standing of the city. There are several large cases containing con-taining specimens of Utah's mineralogy which attract much attention. The Grand Opera House, on Second South street, is under able management manage-ment and la handsomely and comfortably titled up. Some of the best talent in the country coun-try is constantly passing between the Atlantic and the Pacific, and Salt Lake City is always . made a stopping place forperfonnances,eitb.or the opera house or the Salt Lake Theater being selected. This latter place of amusement amuse-ment was built by Brlgham Young over thirty years ago. It is a large and beautiful temple and Is comfortably arranged. Assembly Hall, near the temple, Is used ln winter for worship by the Mormons, the'tabernacle being too large to admit of proper heating. Assembly hall is 120WI8 feet, and cost 160.000. The ceiling is deo-orated deo-orated with churca pictures, among them the Anael Moroni disclosing the hiding place of the Angel Moroni disclosing the hiding place of the golden plates to Joseph Smith. The Natatorlum is a large circular bathing house, the center of which, under a glass roof, is a swimming pool. The water is brought in pipes from Beck's Hot Springs. There are also a large numher of bath rooms. EIulKrie Street Cars connect with every point of interest in tho city. The system is new and the appointments good. Rapid transit is assured. Camp Douglas, three miles east of the city and over 400 feet above it, is beautifully laid out in the midst of lawns aud orchards, and the barracks and houses of th ofllcers are built of stone. The post commands a wide view of the city and beyond where Great Salt Lake lies like molten silver at the foot of the western mountains. Beck's Hot Springs are in the northern part of the city about three miles from the business center. They issue from the base of the mountains, and are regarded as a very valuable aid in cases of rheumatism, dyspepsia aud scrofula The waters are used both internally in-ternally and externally, and there Is an excellent bath house and necessary appointments for the comfort of patients. The Warm Sulphur Springs are between the Hot Springs and the city, about one mile from the poslolllce. . There is a good hotel and comfortable bith house in conneo-t conneo-t ou with the springs, and they can be reached by street railway. The mountains are unsurpassed ln magnificent canyons, and least a dozen of the grandest ore within ?eaTof?he oity.
