Camp Douglas, three miles east of th elty and over 400 feet above it, is beautifully laid out in the midst of lawns and orchards, and th barracks and houses of the oflioers are built of stone. The post commands a wide view of the city and beyond where Great Salt Lake lies like molten silver at the foot of the western mountains. ' Beck's Hot Springs are in the northern part of the city about three miles from the business center. They issue from the base of the mountains, and are regarded as a very valuable aid In cases ot rheumatism, dyspepsia and scrofula. The watnrs are used both In-ternally and externally, and there is an excellent bath bouse and necessary appointments for the comfort ot patients. Th Warm Sulphur Springs are between the Hot Springs and the city, about one mile from the postottloe.
