Show THE REAL ESTATE EXCHANOE, Uusiuoss Transacted at tho General Meet-lug Meet-lug Last Night. The real estate exchange met last night, President Van Buskirk presiding. presid-ing. On motion of Judge Colborn resolutions res-olutions of condolence with Secretary Montgomery on the death of his b.iothe.r were adoptod. J. F. Jack was appointed ap-pointed secretary pro tern. The membership committee reported favorable on tho application of J. A. Fitch and ho was accordingly declared elected a member of the exchauge. A motion was made by Judge Colborn that article six, section one of the constitution con-stitution be amended to read as follows: That a quorum for tho transaction of business shall ' consist of twelve members, mem-bers, instead of twenty-five. Several advertising schemes were then brought up and discussed but no definite action was takeu. C. E. Want-land Want-land made a motion, which was adopted, that tho committee on ways and means devise some way of raising $500 with which to meet tho expenses of the exchange for the next few weeks. A proposition from Mr. M. W. Bracky, of the American Building aud Loan association of Chicago, similar to that detailed in The Times of yesterday was listened to and a committee consisting con-sisting of Messrs. Tousey, Malloy and Leonard was appointed to look into the scheme. ' Messrs. Wantland, Col burn and Barrett Bar-rett were appointed a committee to investigate in-vestigate the feasibility of the Exchange securing a couple of traveling men to advertise the city aud the meeting then adjourned. |
