| Show STANDARD AFTER VIRGIN OIL herald rhyolite nev we have more oil now than ever before said ed busch secretary of the virgin river oil and development company upon his return from the oil fields last week it has been reported here that the shooting of our no 1 well worked disaster continued mr busch but the fact is that we did just the proper thing and that there is more oil in the well now than before we shot we shot the well on thursday of last week with a small torpedo and it sprung the hole there was no caving but the sand lille on which the torpedo hung was wedged aged in the hole so it was necessary to put on a string of fishing tools cods this delayed operations for twenty four hours but after ter the was removed the hole was carefully measured and there was ex acely aly no feet of oil in the well we had some further difficulty with the pump but on oil priday friday evening the pump was working again and we were supplying the various rigs of the district with oil as we had been doing for seme acme time before there are nine rigs in operation four in course of construction and two more coming rig in the rigs cover a north and south area of thirteen and one half miles H H dark clark intends to put a rig over in arizona eighteen miles south of virgin city A representative of the standard oil company was upon the ground last week and placed an order for six tanks of our oil to be shipped by fast freight to toledo with draft attached and there the oil will be tested the gentleman stated that it if the oil is as good as he thinks it is the state of utah could not frame enough laws to keep the standard out of the virgin fields our no 2 well continued mr busch has met with some mishaps and it was necessary for me to go to los angeles to hurry the shipment of special fishing tools A drilling stem and a pair of jars were broken last week the well is already mak ing gas and showing the thin green oil similar to that encountered in no 1 well at a relative depth driller bussey says that it will require feet of additional work before the oil sand will be reached |
