Show IDAHO roosevelt news sam bell has secured a contract from the braddock gold M al co to run a foot tunnel erect a house and blacksmith shop on the wanderer claims it is expected work will be continued all winter on this property wallace tim times es eugene thomas manager of the new hope mine near osborn is a wallace visitor he reports the property looking fine and the ore improving as progress is made he considers the distance of the ore shoot to be about feet gene was elected justice of the peace of osburn precinct at the recent election idaho city world john H emery gen eral manager of the gold coin mining company says the work of framing timbers for the mill building was begun october 14 the building has been completed and the boiler engine and two concentrators the improved standard are in place the track from the hoist to the mill has been covered and work has been started on the ore bin the mill will be ready to run about the first of next month mackay miner the champion mining I 1 company whose property is located in champney Chim pney gulch some five miles from this city have been doing a great deal of development work on their property during the past summer and have planned for a great deal more among other things they are to extend their main tunnel feet and enlarge the present development work on this tunnel it is also the intention of the company to put up adequate camp buildings for accommodation of fully a dozen men mackay miner last saturday notices notice 3 were posted throughout the plant of the macbeth lease announcing the fact that the management had made an increase in wages of all the skilled labor employed amounting to from 25 cents to 50 cents to each man per day the announcement was in the nature of a great surprise to every employee affected as the old rate compared favorably with every camp of similar character in the west it was purely a voluntary move on the part of the management and it is needless to say was very much appreciated by the large force of men benefited mountain home maverick W J keough superintendent of the minerva mine E J garvin and wife of portland came in from boise monday evening mrs garvin left for pocatello yesterday to visit friends while her husband is at minerva giving his personal attention to the installing of a garvin cyanide plant there a process of his invention ven tion he and superintendent keough left for the mine yesterday and mr garvin will remain there until the plant makes a test run the distinctive features of this process from the many other similar ones is the simplicity and effectiveness of the hydraulic agitation and different bechani cal application of electricity as a preci oi pl tant which it is claimed is ahead of all others several mines in idaho are adopting this process and having plants installed installer boise statesman lee bunch received information yesterday by telephone from idaho city of an important development in the hay fork group that he recently took under bond the discovery is in the swit aerland claim the one in which the large ledge is found two feet of high grade ore has been developed when mr bunch was up there to start the development he gave directions to open the ledge farther down the hill it is this work that has developed the new ore the ledge is found to be twelve feet wide at that point on one side there is a streak of two feet that is very rich showing gold in quantity the man in charge sent down for more ore sacks it is a part of the contract that all ore running more than a ton shall be sacked and held the foreman regards this ore as coming in that class and he therefore ordered the sacks everyone familiar with the developments heretofore made in that group has been satisfied the property would prove very rich though the work done heretofore was not considerable it is therefore not surprising to hear that such a streak has been opened |
