scheme is on foot which will undoubtedly place the company in position to do extensive operation in the meantime with the funds which have been collected from the recent assessment the company will was down from the sevier property a couple of days last week he reports that the mill has been almost dismantled to make room for a much larger and more improved plant it was found that the old mill was entirely inadequate to meet the output of the mine and it was decided to be a waste of time to try to operate it the mine is in fine shape for supplying a mill with ore and when the new mill is in commission it will have plenty to do for years to come with the ore now in sight the new mill will be of the stamp and cyaniding cyan iding methods cedar city record J R richards richard s returned eds just above the utah copper workings which will be sent clear through the porphyry belt these tunnels with the teck tunnel and other workings will thoroughly prospect the porphyry at depth and the work at all points is to be pushed with the utmost vigor the teck tunnel has reached a total length of feet and is going forward at the rate of feet a month park record exceptionally good and encouraging news comes from the daly judge management to the effect that the mill will start up the first of the month and that men will be put to work in the mine manager daly has not been up this week but though the report has not been confirmed by him it is well known that active steps towards the starting of the mill and increasing of the mine force have been taken of late and the news has been expected for bior some time the work of prospecting which has been going on for a year or more past has put the mine in splendid condition for extensive development and when work is commenced a large tonnage will be taken out daily bingham bulletin many reports have been circulated recently concerning the ahe wealth of the alls well vein from which the ohio copper company is drawing its ore supply and these reports apparently are no exaggeration of actual conditions manager catrow recently took to salt lake a mass of this native copper associated with red oxide as large as a mans head and pieces flattened out by the rolls to the size of ones hand are frequently found in the jigs at the mill the level has been developed to the east by a drift of seventy five feet and to the west a distance of fifty feet and s sinking inking will soon be commenced to explore the vein at grea greater ter depth very little has been done the output coming coining mainly from the development work the mill is treating close to tons daily and turning out a product that runs better than 30 per cent copper prospecting in the interest of the property holders under the direction of D C jackling continues this work is mainly for the purpose of exploring the porphyry zone park record from parties who visited the new york bonanza mine last night we learn that the mine is in better condition than ever work is being prosecuted on the and levels and ore in considerable quantity and of excellent quality is being found on each of these levels monday next another shipment of about forty tons of high grade ore will be shipped and there is yet enough of the product in sight to make work for several months in taking it out with these shipments being made regularly stockholders need pay little attention to the fluctuations of the stock on the market as the ore is there and that is what counts the stock if the condition of the mine be considered is worth 3 or 4 today cedar city record we are reliably informed that work is shortly to commence in the old tunnel on the blair group of claims situated on silver mountain in the pinto iron district the property was recently incorporated for and sufficient of the stock has been disposed of in the east to meet the immediate requirements the tunnel referred to which was cornis commenced by mr blair a dozen years ago is now in twenty five feet and it is estimated that eighty to ninety feet more of dead work will cut the first ledge of which there are seven running parallel with each other the crowd now in control seems to mean business and the old property from which considerable shipping ore has already been taken will likely be placed in the ranks of the steady producers park record dave fisher who has the contract for driving a foot tunnel on the columbus property in the bonanza flat neighborhood was in camp this week getting supplies together and making necessary arrangements for the beginning of work operation will not be commenced until after july 4 but when it is commenced it will be vigorously prosecuted six men will be employed on the work two on a shift and mr fisher believes that the work will be completed in about three months the foot point in the tunnel will give a depth of feet on the ore which has been already uncovered which it is thought will develop into a large and permanent body the columbus lies in a very promising and rich district and good news may be looked for f from rom there at any time af after ter work is commenced J bingham bulletin fred G shaffer president of the intermountain mining industrial association which recently purchased the mystic shrine visited that property last monday and was greatly surprised and gratified by the showing that superintendent morser was able to present regular shipments of profitable ore have been made ever since mr morser took charge and a vein of lead copper ore a foot in width has been opened up for a distance of seventy feet on its strike this vein was encountered by a raise from the tin horn crosscut cross cut and is in tin horn ground A car of ore shipped last week netted 18 per ton and it is expected that this weeks shipment will do better than that the force at the mine has been increased to ten men mr shaffer is satisfied that the mystic shrine will come up to every expectation and is congratulating himself upon the acquisition of the property he expects to open offices in salt lake which will be in charge of mr morser |
