Show LAFAVE STILL prospecting many of the veteran mining operators of utah will well remember A lafave the old time prospector and miner who for several years made salt lake his headquarters mr lafave of late years has made his home at clifton arizona and a recent issue of the copper era of that place speaks of him as follows A lafave arrived home this week from an extensive prospecting trip mong along the colorado river he went to the end of the santa fe road now building from wickenburg to the colorado river where he outfitted and hit the trail he crossed the river at parker and then struck into the mountains 4 where he spent several weeks he found many promising leads and made several locations which he will prospect more thoroughly later while in that section he met wyatt earp well known in arizona in early days who is working some good claims and hopes yet to become a millionaire the last time they met was in the wilds kofalas ka where they each managed to evade dame fortune mr lafave walked off about twenty ponds of flesh while away and will at home a few weeks to fatten up before again taking to the hills he reports that globe is now the center of the boom in the southwest though all sections seen prosperous at globe from three to four hundred men are compelled to sleep in chairs or roll up in their blankets in the rear end of saloons houses are being erected just as fast as material can be had the boom is caused by the development of the mineral resources of the globe district which is fast coming to the front money is plentiful and business good |
