Show THE JUPITER MINE record park city utah A record reporter piloted by manager oscar lawrence spent tuesday afternoon at the jupiter and was very courteously shown everything in and about the property the jupiter is doubtless one of the most likely looking prospects in camp the showing of high grade ore now in evidence the formation and the general characteristics of the surrounding country all leading to the conclusion that there is a big shipping mine there and that mr lawrence has found it at on wednesday the new boarding and hodg ing house put up by jack ohara and C A ormiston was completed the building is two stories and is modernly and conveniently fitted up on the ground floor are the office kitchen and dining dinine room and upstairs the sleeping apartments water is piped from the tunnel nearby to the kitchen A bath is to be installed in the near future the entire building is of matched lumber and substantially erected insuring protection from the intense cold and raging storms of the mountains mr lawrence now has his force of ten men at work tearing down the old tunnel houses and cabins which are to be replaced by a new blacksmith shop and workhouse work house the old loring mill in woodside canyon has been purchased by mr lawrence and the lumber from this will be used in the construction st of the new buildings since the cessation of work at the jupiter the tunnel has naturally caved in somewhat and the wreckage is being cleaned up and the tunnel timbered re wherever it is needed preparatory to the resumption there this work will probably take about sixty days the original tunnel runs in feet and cuts the fissure and two drifts have been run from this point one east and one north and ore has been found in both of these other tunnels have been run at different times higher up on the mountain side in which ore and the same formation as in the long tunnel has been found feet of ground thus being bein assured with this fact in mind and with the knowledge that there is in place a foot or 01 fifteen inches of ore giving returns of to ounces of silver seventy to seventy six per cent lead and from 10 to 15 in gold it may be readily seen that there is no reason why the jupiter should not be shipping 2 11 regularly in a short time mr lawrence who is the most heavily interested party in this property has worked on oil it for several years and disclosures he has made have not been the result of luck but of careful study stud and ill thought ought and he is fully deserving of tho the rich showing he now has supplies for tho the winter are now being put in and work will be prosecuted without interruption with the advent of spring r the jupiter froni from present indications will bo be in ill condition to tj niale regular shipments t |
