Show ANOTHER BIG POWER PLANT statesman boise idaho john A bagley who had been here as attorney in the cassia county damage case cas e left for salt lake yesterday afternoon he stated he was going down there to attend a meeting of stockholders and directors of a new power company that had been organized to generate electrical energy at shoshone palls falls and convey it to points in utah mr bagley stated the company was known as the shoshone power company its articles of incorporation had been filed in cassia county and would be filed with the secretary of state in iii a day of two the company was capitalized for he added and there were about 70 of the leading businessmen business men of salt lake among the subscribers bers to the stock continuing mr bagley said the president of the company was francis M lyman the apostle other officers and directors were john A dagley bagley vice president and general counsel L R martineau secretary and treasurer F M lyman jr chief engineer and A L woolley among the stockholders were heber J grant john henry smith B F grant and spencer clawson cla ason mr bagley said the company had a power site on the south side of the river and had a right to second feet of water it was the plan to take the water from the river through a tunnel feet in length bored through the solid rock and drop it into a penstock with a fall of feet it was calculated to generate horsepower the estimated cost of installing the power plant and building the transmission line mr bagley added was while another million would be expended in the building of distributing stations and equipment of subsidiary companies the length of the line to salt lake would be miles i it was the intention to supply po power powe we 5 not only to salt lake but also to ogden provo and many other points the company would sell the electrical energy at at wholesale mr bagley explained and would deliver it 2 wherever it should be needed in sufficient quantity to justify the construction of lines the company it was said further would make an application for a franchise in salt lake for supplying electricity for light and power purposes among the patrons of the company would be a number of interurban railway companies in utah mr bagley made the further statement that they had a market in sight for all the power that could be generated by the proposed plant the meeting of stockholders and directors is to be held today |
