Show 1 milli lei the Wolver wolverine irYe of park city cilyo S OF all the great bonanza mining camps of the west it would be difficult to find a greater than park city which today is one odthe greatest wealth producers of the american continent and there is no district in this almost boundless intermountain region that Js s paying more in i dividends than is this utah camp the mines I 1 of which in the ex tent of their gigantic ore bodies the high grade character of their product and f the extent and regularity of their dividend bend disbursements sare are almost without aitho ut parallel in the history af of the mining indue try of the west when hen we talk of 0 f millions we point with pride to the magnificent mines of park city and when we allude to almost limitless deposits of mineral wealth we y have in our minds eye this great and productive camp ilk f V which b ich since the disy 4 covery of the precious 1 metals within its n has produced over and has disbursed nearly twenty seven mil lions in dividends one of the important f features ea tures of this section being that the industry ethere there is still in its infancy with every reason 0 t o believe that in the near future duplications of the great ontario the marvelous silver kinf the wonderful daly west the sensational quincy or a daly or crescent will be found inthe in the hills bills and canyons of this bonanza district and from the gratifying activity now so noticeable in this section almost any day startling discoveries may be chronicled in this locality which will give to the mining world other great producers and dividend payers it was not so very long ago that the ontario was looked upon as being the one great 15 mine of park city and at that time it was believed that it would be worse than useless to look for other bonanzas in that section with the finding of the daly it was believed that the limit of the mineral zone of that locality had been reached and the exploitation of the daly west C tf ap 1 I A 4 A Z 44 A f 1 7 F 41 partial view q f the immense cropping V of the Wow erine was looked upon by the majority as a wo woeful eaul waste of time and money and when the silver king aida a veritable mountain of high grade ore dropped p ed into line as one of the greatest aret dest dividend payers in the world to be followed by the Quincy which distributed in velvet money within the brief per peri od of ten months wonder gave way to wild enthusiasm old moss mossbacks backs became became conver converted ted old timers experienced an awakening and outs out side i d e capital began to hustle for choice loca eions on extensions of prominent ent and producing mines and today more energetic work is being done and more is under way there th than an ever bea be fore in the history of the camp it i is easy to talk of millions in but it is S more difficult to comprehend in reality ithe true r meaning deap ing of these figures or to grasp in thought the number of dollars and cents embraced in the expression a million much less over twenty six millions and this is wb what at the mines of park city have disbursed in dividends during the past years the mines contributing to this princely fortune being the following crescent daly r daly daiy west ontario quincy silver king tolaf total during the past two or three years a score or more of big and strong companies have begun extensive operations in comparatively virgin ground in park city haunts one of the largest of these bein being cr the daly J judge adge backed by hon john J daly to whom the camp Inal latiOn 0 the boiler and air owes s so 0 much and who has been prominently identified with wi h the big mines of the park almost since their first discovery the holdings of the daly judge taking in the anchor above the daay west and quincy and extending southward into the bonanza flat country the merit and value of which has long been held in high esteem by mr daly and his immediate associates other companies have begun extensive operations near the head oT otT haynes canyon around the silver kinland king and in the near neighbor neighborhood chood of the ontario to tod the he east and west while a heavy combination dom of michigan people is preparing to do extensive and systematic work in the region bordering on bonanza flat and on the great mineral zone reaching from park city to the grand old camp of alta which also in the past has produced its millions and which today is looked upon as being one of the most promising districts in the state this combination is known as the wolverine mining COMPY company taking its title from the great michigan mine of this name the wolverine Wol verino group which was visited by a representative ie of the mining review a few days ago is composed corn posed of eleven claims embracing about acres and is located about 1 three and a half miles from park city the commercial center of this great mining region the wolverine is in snake creek mining district wasatch county two of the claims were patented in 1872 three have been surveyed for patent and two were located during the year 1901 it would be almost impossible for a mining man to see the domains of the wolverine without being most favorably impressed with its surface showings and indications in all of the vast mineral belt surrounding park city it is doubtful if any locality presents a more extensive outcrop than that in evidence on Wolver vine ground around indeed these surface indications of the existence of mineral are extensive in the extreme the ledges being so well defined and the droppings crop pings pinas of such magnitude as to challenge the attention of the experienced mining man and the metallurgist the ledges in some places standing from twelve to fourteen feet above the surface a slight idea of the magnitude of these droppings crop pings beng being given by the halftone half tone illustration which accompanies this article joining the the wolverine on the west is the southern tier atiq r mine which in the past from mere surface workings shipped something like in ore from one chute on the east is the boulder group while a near neighbor on the north is the daly daily judge group whose extensive holdings hoi dings embrace the old anchor mine the new workings of the daly dal y judge being hardly more than feet as the crow flies from the point where the wolverine is engaged in tunnelling tun nelling for the ore body which surface showings indicate will be uncovered uncovered in the near future in the ride from park city point into the ground the impression gained by a visit to this property is that with more development and exploration it should develop into a producer equal to some of the noted dividend payers of the camp the wolverine company is capitalized at shares of a par value of 1 each it is a close corp corporation gration with ample funds in its treasury for the extensive development and equipment of its property its officers are well known michigan people of good standing in mining and financial circles who believe that to open up a big mine money must be freely but intelligently expended Th the
