average than that taken above the tunnel level A large amount odthe of the ore is native copper and silver glance everything now indicates that this mine will prove to be the richest mine in silver and copper in the united states if not in the world this property being on the southeast slope of the la sal mountains shows much for the whole district beaver news superintendent W A wilson of the sheep rock came down from salt lake sunday for the purpose of sizing up recent developments according to his statements the recent report of a big strike was without foundation A small seam of very rich ore has been encountered in places but there is not enough of it to make a mine and the balance of the vein does not carry sufficient values to be mined at a profit mr wilson is of the opinion that they have not yet attained sufficient depth to demonstrate the merits of the property and he proposes to send the new shaft down to the level A contract for this work feet was let to the thompson expert mill men to reconstruct the may day dry concentrator has progressed in his work to the experimental peri mental stage and from his demeanor it is easy to believe that he has great faith in being able to make it a commercial success although the gentleman declines to make for publication any statement whatever yet the quiet air of satisfaction which he wears is proof conclusive that he is quite confident of success in the undertaking there are yet many improvements to be made before the plant is turned over to the company but blit when that time comes there will be no question of the future the successful operation of this plant means much to the may day mine and to tintic gintic district as well as to the mining world in general and mr Inger success in the undertaking will certainly not detract from his excellent reputation as a man who does things |
