Show mining talent plans development in new section of tintic gintic following many months of investigation and intensive calculation cu lation during which the proposition was measured from every possible angle a number of salt lake and tintic gintic minin mining 0 men have reached the conclusion that a section of the country several miles to the east and south of the districts well known and highly productive mines requires nothing more than the application of drill steel and blasting powder to bring in other big mines to start the ball rolling and get things under way the 1 I untie eagle e mines company has been organized under the laws of utah with H G snyder as president F J sylvester vice president W 1 I snyder treasurer the other members of the board being R B shelley J R murdock J J harvey and J C jensen while R B parry has been made secretary largely through the tireless efforts of H G greely snyder the new company has located and acquired what is designated as the lindbergh group of sixteen claims and plans already are being perfected for the equipment of the ground and the sinking of a double compartment and manway shaft to a depth of feet at this horizon it is the purpose to crosscut and open up the three known ledges that traverse the claims without a suspicion of doubt in the minds of the projectors of the undertaking that large bodies of commercial silver lead ore will be encountered in doing the work this particular section of the district one that has never heretofore been classed as an integral part of the old camps worthwhile worth while mineral bearing boundaries has attracted little attention on the part of engineers geologists and hard rock miners because of its remoteness from the most productive portions of the old district but during the past year it has received more than passing notice it has been discovered that every physical feature obtaining in the older portion of the district exists in outstanding prominence in the new and for these reasons and many others that will become public property before long a campaign of development will be inaugurated in that section during the coming spring and summer months that is is promised to bring altogether unexpected andi heretofore un of results tintie mining district covers square miles in order to dispel many preconceived notions concerning the actual limits of the tintie mining district S frank hunt mining m in geologist who has been digging into the subject and who lias has spent the greater portion of the past year in a study of the region r 1 gives the following explanation of what constitutes and what should be included in the districts boundaries as follows the tintie mining district covers an area in juab utah and tooele thoele counties fifty per cent larger than that mapped by the U S geological survey as the tintie gintic quadrangle 0 I 1 ahe he area thus mapped is fifteen miles wide east and west by eighteen miles long north and south the district map extends only three and one half miles north of eureka where as the district extends ten miles north to twelve mile pass the selma paymaster hot stuff scranton lehi tintie tintie davis and several other north tintie groups lie north of the area mapped As a matter of fact the tintie standard and adjacent mines lie west of the middle line of the quadrangle so properly speaking they are not in what is termed the east tintie district they are simply east of eureka which is situated near the west side of the district the tintie eagles lindbergh and the onedia iron mask groups are in the tintie quadrangle about one and one half miles west of the east line hence are in the east tintie gintic district about fifteen years ago the utah lei legislature 0 slature abolished all ald time district records and offices in favor of county records only for mining locations at the same time this act automatically set aside all arbitrary old district boundaries leaving only natural topographic structural and mining features as mcatur natural i al boundaries so the tintie district covers portions of three counties and is really about twenty five miles long north and south by twenty wide east and west |
